The Delphi Tri-Event FAQs
The Delphi Tri-Event
What is The Delphi Tri-Event?
The Delphi Tri-Event is a fun, challenging endurance event hosted by Delphi Resort. The event is designed as a taster event for aspiring tri-athletes, or as a fun, multi-sport challenge in its own right.
Participants will undertake:
1. A 250m swimming segment
2. A 20km cycling segment
3. A 5km running segment
What time will the event start?
Event registration starts at 8am in the Adventure Hub building at Delphi Resort.
The event start time is 10.30am. Please allow a minimum of 1.5hrs before your starting time to check-in at the registration desk.
Where do I park my vehicle?
Parking is available at Delphi Resort.
Where can I view the event route map?
What if I’m not an experienced swimmer, should I still participate?
The swim section will take place in a sheltered bay off Killary Harbour. The swim has been restricted to 250 meters to cater for varying fitness levels, and full kayak and boat safety cover will be in place on the day.
Can I use my own wetsuit and bike?
We recommend all participants use their own bikes and wetsuits.
I don’t have my own wetsuit or bike, how do I reserve one?
To reserve a wetsuit/bike from Delphi Resort for the event, please add these items to your Eventbrite shopping cart when registering for the event online. The cost of hiring a wetsuit for the event is €5 per person. The cost of hiring a bike for the event is €15 per person. You can register for the event and purchase wetsuit/bike hire on the event’s Eventbrite page.
Road bike or mountain bike?
The cycling section of the race is entirely on sealed, tarmac roads. Both road bikes or Mountain bikes would be suitable. Road bikes are generally faster, however please be aware that the road surface can be rough in places so thin tyres can be more prone to puncture. A hybrid style bike would be a great compromise for the event.
