Kayaking in Connemara
Kayak along the Wild Atlantic Way and learn the basic skills and techniques of Delphi’s most popular water activity. Feel confident under the supervision of qualified instructors, as you experience flat water paddling on Killary Fjord and take in the stunning views that the unique coastline has to offer.
The fjord is in the heart of Connemara which forms a natural border between counties Galway and Mayo. It is 16 kilometres long and in the centre it is over 45 metres deep.
While Kayaking in Connemara you’ll see the beautiful coastline from a whole new perspective. The northern shore boasts spectacular views of Mweelrea Mountain; Connacht’s highest, rising to 814 metres, while to the south are the Maumturk Mountains and the Twelve Bens.
We offer a session of flat water kayaking to give you the basic techniques. You can choose from a sit-on-top kayak (perfect for those who may be a little nervous), or the traditional closed cockpit version.
This is one of the many unique lifetime experiences on offer at Delphi and we would highly recommend it to all!
