Hosted by Sherry and Brigid this retreat promises to have you leaving with Performance enhancing techniques through our unique workshops focusing on nutrition, movement and mental skills training.

WHAT TO BRING:
Weather here in Delphi Valley can be unpredictable. It can be very hot on a sunny day and cold and rainy on a bad day, so it’s always a good idea to check the weather report right before you travel.
We recommend bringing running shoes with a good grip, sun cream, a bathing suit (for the hot tub / spa / pool), a waterproof coat, loose clothing or gym gear and enough layers just in case of cold weather. During the meet and greet we will go over the schedule and weather report for the weekend so we can adjust the schedule a bit if necessary.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Workshop 1: A Practical Approach to Running, Endurance & Injury Prevention – This workshop will cover topics such as best training practices & methods, recovery for athletes, injury management & prevention, mindset & goal setting and fitness for running & fitness for life. 

Workshop 2: Sport Nutrition – Nutritional Therapist and Sports Nutritionist Brigid will deliver an engaging and informative session focusing on optimal nutrition to enhance your fuelling and recovery from training.  We will discuss common nutritional barriers to fitness and peak performance and how to overcome them. Ending with a Q&A session 

Workshop 3: Movement 360 –led by Complete Athlete founders Sherry and Brigid.  This is the Complete Athlete signature workshop, focusing on the fundamental techniques and movements of running, while cultivating a mind, body and breath connection.  We guide you through a flow that will move your joints through their entire range of motion, stimulating the connective tissues while also increasing strength and mobility. 

The core elements of this class are

  • Learning how to find postural alignment and build postural strength 
  • Developing your individual functional movement patterns
  • Learning how to fire and improve the function of the body’s deep layer stabilising muscles
  • Improving the coordination, balance, strength and mobility to enhance athletic performance

Workshop 4: Myofascial Release – led by Sherry and Brigid. Fascia is the living seam system that links everything inside you together. This workshop is designed for deep body work and to unlock fascial restrictions using therapy balls to knead out tightness. This deep tissue work softens fascial restrictions and leaves you with a feeling of spaciousness, an ease in joints muscles and your fascia.

Sherry Mannion Bio:

Sherry is a Strength and Conditioning Coach, Sports yoga practitioner, mat Pilates instructor and RYT 500-hour yoga instructor. As a science graduate with a degree in Anatomy and Physiology, a diploma in sports psychology and a diploma in Sports and Exercise Science she always had a fascination with biomechanics and how the human body works physically.

Sherry has made her name working with athletes most notable she has worked with Galway senior footballers, triathletes, golfers, boxers and runners. She has also trained under the Runity method and writes yoga advice for the Irish runner magazine. 

Brigid Sheahan Bio:

Brigid is a qualified Nutritional Therapist and one of her main specialties is Sports Nutrition.

Brigid is a Strength and Conditioning coach and an advanced yoga teacher. She has studied under Anatomy Trains in Motion where she explored the fascia, functional movement and individual anatomical structures that shape our posture and movement patterns. She has a passion in working with athletes through functional movement while fuelling and recovering from training with optimal nutrition.
